Anna and David Coulling have been involved in the financial markets for almost 20 years, both as traders and investors and are the founders and owners of Quantum Trading.

Their trading careers started in the futures market back in the early days before the internet, when placing an order meant calling the broker who in turn spoke to the floor of the exchange to execute and fill orders.

A stressful exercise made worse by the general unreliability of the technology of the day. Since then as a trading couple, they have traded virtually every market and instrument and now focus their speculative trading on forex, commodities, and indices, with equities primarily for longer term investment.

As independent traders they were fortunate to have started their journey, with understanding and then leveraging the power of the volume price relationship to determine market direction. This approach has provided the foundation stone of their trading approach which is then complemented with an array of trading tools and indicators.

Foreign exchange, or forex, is the conversion of one country’s currency into another.
In a free economy, a country’s currency is valued according to the laws of supply and demand.
In other words, a currency’s value can be pegged to another country’s currency, such as the U.S. dollar, or even to a basket of currencies.
A country’s currency value may also be set by the country’s government.
However, most countries float their currencies freely against those of other countries, which keeps them in constant fluctuation.
