Lee Morrison – Mass Attacks
Description
Facing multiple opponents is the worst possible situation you can find yourself in, and you should avoid it if possible. If you pay close attention to your surroundings rather than shutting off to listen to music or retreat into your thoughts, you should be able to detect multiple attacks before they happen. Situational awareness and avoidance are the prerequisites on which Lee Morrison, an active combat instructor and author of Paladin’s bestselling Urban Warfare, has built his defense system against multiple foes. For massive attacks, Morrison draws on his extensive experience with multiple threats to educate potential victims to avoid, de-escalate, or deal with multiple attackers.
From core principles, threat recognition and physical tactics, to contact management, eventual response, third party protection, scenarios and training, Morrison stresses the importance of using proactive tactics and proactive action when needed. His keys to surviving an attack in which you outnumber include:
Make sure you are mentally prepared to fight multiple attackers. Know that just as they can knock you out, you can knock them out as well. They may outnumber you, but they are not invincible.
Show that you are a greater predator than they are.
Hit first, hit hard and shoot clinical shots at clinical targets.
Destroy your opponents one by one, using each as a shield between you and the rest.
The exception is when you become the victim of a massive attack – when you face four or more opponents. In this case, we are talking about limiting damage to yourself. Don’t let your ego talk you into suicide. Protect yourself, especially your head and spine, and get out as quickly as possible. So you live to fight another day.
– Lee Morrison is one of the nicest guys I know before he became one. Don’t give a damn about the tough guy who earned my respect, whether an intimacy with violence has evolved over the decades in the doors of rude clubs and pubs in the UK, where being a doorman is a professional thing and notably different from what happens in the US. Not only is he physically skilled, he understands violent behavior and combines psychological, verbal and physical approaches that are both relevant and practical. Whether not a poser – he is fit, strong and walks in conversation. Be careful, you will not regret it. ””
