Two Misconceptions About YouTube
People usually have 2 big misconceptions about YouTube when it comes to Network Marketing.
Their first misconception is that they think of YouTube solely as a social media platform. In reality, at its core it’s a search engine. It’s actually the second largest search engine in the world. The number 1 is of course Google, and Google owns YouTube.
People are going to YouTube all day, every day not just for entertainment, but also to learn more about products they might want to buy and solutions to the problems they are facing. Did you know at this very moment there are thousands of people who are searching on YouTube for the exact same product and brand you are promoting? Thousands of people. And not just any people. These are ready to buy people. When I realized this, I asked myself “What if I can get in front of all those thousands of ready to buy people every day?”
This is when I realized there was a void. You see I found that when I first started off, nobody was making videos about the products my network marketing company was selling. All I had to do was make videos about those products.
Now if you are thinking that too many people have made videos about your company’s products, and that nobody will watch your videos because there are already too many, I want to tell you that means absolutely nothing.
Most people who post videos on YouTube have no idea how to get their videos to rank high in the search results. By learning how to rank your videos, which is much easier than you think, you’ll be able to jump to the top of the rankings right away.
Here’s an Example
Look at this screen shot and you will understand what I mean. When anyone searches for the best selling product from my company on YouTube, I currently rank 1st all across YouTube. Right now, there are thousands of people searching my company and products on YouTube and the first thing they see is my video.
And when they watch my video, I offer them exclusive discounts to buy from the link I give them.
If you pay close attention, you will notice that this video was made almost 7 months ago and yet they are still ranking number 1. I literally did not have to touch these in the 7 months. And yet they bring me sales on autopilot every single week.
And if I can do this, you can too… trust me… I know you can.
2nd misconception Network Marketers have about YouTube is that “I am already using Facebook/Instagram. So there is no need for me to use YouTube”. Let me tell you, if you aren’t using YouTube, you’re leaving the most amount of money on the table. Period.
One of the advantages that YouTube has over other platforms like Facebook and Instagram is the lifetime views of the content. Next time you get a chance, open up YouTube, click on the History tab and take a look at the age of some of the videos you’ve watched.
If you’re like most people, you’ll see that you’ve recently watched videos that are at least 5 years old.
When you post something on a ‘feed based’ platform like Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram, it quickly becomes lost in the abyss of millions of other posts. It takes a lot of work to stay relevant because you have to continually post every single day.
With YouTube your content lasts much longer, and it never really goes away as long as its still relevant and optimized to show up in the searches. Just like the example screenshot I showed you above. I shot that video with my iPhone and it gets thousands of new views every month, which continue to generate hundreds of dollars. And that’s just 1 video! It took me less than an hour to plan it out, shoot it, upload it, and optimize it for what my target audience is searching for.
The best part is, this traffic is completely free! Unlike Facebook and other platforms where you need to pay to get your post in front of people, YouTube does it for you.
