1. Since allergies are nominalizations which fall within the “health” context, unless you are a qualified physician, it’s best to have your clientdiscuss this with their physician before you work with them. While not always necessary in all cases, a good rule of thumb is to ask the physician to write a prescription for “Hypnotherapy,” so that all qualifications and ethical/legal responsibilities are defined.
2. Some allergies may result in anaphylactic shock, which may belife-threatening, so it is important to do a thorough assessment with theclient before the session. If the client reports a history of anaphylaxis, usethis process only under direct medical supervision.
3 If you have a client who has a persistent allergy, and you havefollowed the procedure accordingly, you may want to refer them to theirphysician to be tested for parasites. One role of the system whichproduces histamine is to guard against parasites and the allergicsymptoms may be indicative of a case of parasites.

The Set-up:

Before doing the following procedure with anyone, you may want toprovide them with an explanation of the process and rationale, whichfrom an NLP point of view is “allergies are phobias of the immune system.”The role of the immune system is to protect against viruses and bacteria(pathogens and carcinogens).

In the case of of an allergy, the immune system mistakenly identifies the allergen as a pathogen and sets off a cascade of defenses, resulting in the production of histamine to rid thepathogen from the system This histamine reaction is whatcauses the itching, swelling, and redness which is associated with allergies.

The Allergy Relief Process “retrains”: the neurology to understand thatthe allergen is not a pathogen and immune system can now recognize as non-harmful and consequently, not create histamine reaction. You can use counter-examples to illustrate this. For example, if the allergen is dust, you may say to the client that we know people whoare not allergic to dust.

Dust is not a pathogen, but in the case of an allergy, the immune system has made a mistake, so it has been responding to the dust as if it were a virus or bacteria.This process helps re-educate and condition the immune system so it will respond appropriately
