Most importantly, instructor James Kodzis teaches you how to hit and defend against these fundamental jiu-jitsu stances. Each position is explained and demonstrated from various angles followed by demonstration of a series of defenses for the position. Simple, straightforward, easy-to-understand instructions let you tag along with a partner, practicing attacking and defending drills for each strike as you learn.

With a background in law enforcement and martial arts, James Kodzis has created a jiu-jitsu program that will benefit jiu-jitsu students and instructors, as well as law enforcement and security personnel.

about the actor

James Kodzis has over 20 years of martial arts experience including Jujitsu, Karate, wrestling and boxing. He has worked in law enforcement for over a decade as a K-9 officer, SWAT team member and law enforcement instructor. His approach to Jujitsu combines modern technique with traditional principles, resulting in a technically accurate style that is suited to self-protection.
