Don Frye dominated the world of mixed martial arts for 6 consecutive years.
A former professional boxer and licensed firefighter, Don Frye made an impressive professional debut by knocking out Thomas Ramirez in 8 seconds.
Frye won his first Ultimate Fighting Championship on February 16, 1996 defeating Ramirez and two. On May 17, 1996, Frye defeated Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Champion Amaury Bitetti in a savage brawl. After losing his title to Mark Coleman, Frye stayed undefeated for the next 8 years, defeating among others Ken Shamrock and Tank Abbott. , age and injuries caught up with Frye, and after going 15-1 in MMA, he retired 20-8-1 (1 no-contest).
