The first thing we must recognize is that one of the most important decisions you will ever make in your life in whom you decide to call your mate. You’re about to take a woman or man, and you will say “I’m going to be with you from now on and I’m going to invest my life in you. I hope you don’t hurt me.” Your chances to succeed are almost zero, but you’re willing to give it a try. And you’re going to trust each other. You will introduce your partner to your friends and family.
This subject of being with another person, a man or woman, is not due to the importance of it. It is not given its proper context in life. It’s looked upon as a side activity of living. The side activity of your life is your relationship. I think the main event of your life if you’re a woman is a relationship and it should be. Because without it, you are not going to make it and be independent. You will be miserable. As a man, it’s the second important thing in your life after your career. Your career comes first. But to a woman, the man comes first. A woman’s primary purpose is a relationship with a guy. The guy’s primary goal is his career. The second purpose is the woman. These are facts.
I am talking to men now. There should be two subjects at the University. One is your career, the tow is women. Those are the two things you need to understand. What are you trying to do in your life? You need to study, and you need to know women. Because at the back of a man’s mind, there’s always a woman. The most important things I’ve ever done in my life, and I’m still doing it is understanding the dynamic of man and woman. And we could rule peace once we know this.
Game or die, that’s why it’s named like this. So the first thing we must do is empty our cup. Leaving your cup comes from a story of a samurai that went to see a Zen master. He asked Zen master a secret to Enlightenment of a fighting sword. The Zen master said, “sure have some tea and sit, and pour some tea for the guy.” The cup goes to the top, and he is pouring. It’s overflowing. Then the master told him to stop. He said “you can’t really go for more. Stop! The cup can’t take any more. Don’t you see it?” The man stops. The master says “just like this cup, you are already coming to me full of ideas of what you think. First, empty your cup so I could fill it with the information you want.” So the first thing you have to do when approaching the subject is to empty your cups. Because you’ve been taught incorrectly. It’s a fact, what you think you know a lot about it is not as good as what it actually is.
