So many people struggle through feeling bad on the inside, while maintaining a mask of smiling, and pleasant on the outside. Their pain often secret pain without witnesses. In this session, Andrew T. Augustine demonstrates, a keyboard-free method of working with a client with a history of depressive illness. Without overtly exploring this history and personal history, Augustine uses the core algorithms that lay at the heart of integral eye movement therapy to begin a deep process of change and self-exploration. While it seems the effects a little more than eye movement exercises, the client is led through a structured interview, beginning first with the simple memory of a minor, but annoying memory before moving quickly into the deep underlying emotional states that drive depression.
And in this interview, Augustine introduces the client to the two elements, which he terms, “the Patterns of Chronicity” that makes the best of this tracking change the work without inadvertently “blocking” the work. In his distinctive and unconventional style, Augustine delivers a lot of change needed before asking the client what the problem is. In this interview, that he changes direction to begin exploring systems of identity and personal growth. In exploring identity, Austin hits on a number of archetypal themes, including people pleasing, masks, aging, difficult relationships and self esteem. One week after the interview, the client wrote, “After filming, I more leisurely afternoon and was quite agitated, but not depressed. The following day I felt very agitated, I was expecting to feel depressed, but not – I felt a little confused and was a bit clumsy. Today, I feel good, not depressed or but feel depressed. I have good mental clarity and for the first time in a very long time, my head is not filled with the foggy sheer laughter!!”Angry Insomniac:Suppressed Anger Of the very strong Negative Emotions
This is the second session of the who have returned for further work. In the first session was for insomnia, and was not taken. While the client reports insomnia was no better, and through this first session, he reports that other areas of his life suffer a “huge change.”These changes are mentioned in the beginning of this session. Following a humorous and provocative approach inspired by the work of Frank Farrelly and Nick Kemp, Andrew T. Austin playing opens you need to change your per conversationally and accuracy of the probing of the representations and strategies. Advanced practitioners will notice the conversational use of state fractionation as well as the chaining of the united the first part of the session. “The interruptions and tangential questions are not random,” Austin cryptically offers by way of explanation, “this approach works really well and in this case [of this] pleasant, to work and noticeably very responsive to need.
“Some of the archetypal themes related to persistent anger explored in this session that the use of violent fantasy, the mechanisms of suppression and control and feeling as though one is in power, like an exploding volcano. Sometimes confrontational, but not once losing the rapport, Augustine shows how the metaphors of Movement process, design, reframing, submodality changes, kinaesthetic dissociation and future pacing can all be done quite conversationally and without any conscious resistance by the client.
Perhaps this conversational class is too covert, as at the end of the session, contrasting to the level of intensity of the feeling of anger earlier in the session the client remarks, “How to do?! That is quite amazing really. Imagine not getting me in a state, it’s bizarre!”Population Problems:Tinnitus, Mental and Physical Illness – Feeling Very LowIn session, the client presents a complex set of problems mainly around the symptoms of tinnitus (ringing in the ears), depression, a serious blood disorder, and problems with excessive alcohol intake.
With time, Andrew T. Austin chooses the first time to work with depression account follows excessive alcohol before exploring the tinnitus experience. In the first session, this demonstrates, of course “be in effect” – i.e. in such effects, that these problems over his life and his day to day experience, but he struggles with finding the “cause.”Like many who have suffered chronic problems, his own experience tells, that problems happen to him and the solutions are outside of conscious control.
Ignoring the tangential thinking, which here exhibits, Austin stubbornly sticks with a structured interview, a structure, which here clearly unconscious. Augustine guides this inner finally get him to begin to examine their own mental strategies. This state is not reached before the client fully starts to feel quite uncomfortable and challenged by the nature of law enforcement. As Augustine tells his disciples, “sometimes you just need to be comfortable yourselfwith other discomfort.”Viewers will note the unusual way in which the session ends – it just stops and this is dismissed quickly despite the worsening of a particular sign.
Augustine says that in this case, this is a vital therapeutic maneuver, and not just a function of necessity and time constraints. He says he will leave to the viewer to workout the exact cause.
And Sorry to Late Guy:Of Extreme Emotional Distress, when really bad stuff happens to really good peopleFilmed in its complex, this is one of the sessions that Andrew T. Austin, as much as one of the best demonstrations of his work from 2009. This session has struggled a long time with serious feelings of depression. Advanced practitioners would do well to study patterns of language use in this unusual of this session. This is a very “secret work”, as the content and history of this questions remain about the standards during the session.
Disregarding the negative effects of these problems in his life, Austin quickly established this to the next level of his personal designs using his metaphors of Movement approach to reframing. The work of both the mental representations and the way in which this moves, and the place of his muscles, Austin’s unorthodox approach raises the client’s consciousness from the effect of how badly it feels, and chunks up to the plans, which this addresses the life of the program. Areas to be addressed, or demonstrated in this DVD are also metaphors of movement, advanced reframing, strategies, timeline organization, future planning/future pacing and translating strategic thinking into the body of the act. When he had arrived distressed, and very recently for a long car journey and heavy traffic, the client’s level of stress is very noticeable in the beginning of the session. At the end of the session the level of change is very noticeable.
Following the session, the client wrote, “thank you for seeing me, despite my delay! I really do believe that long trip I made was worth every mile. The session with you seems to have changed attitude and disposition already. Positive, which has happened to me. Shit, this is ridiculous! Great, thank you again.”
