This video does not assume any knowledge on the part of the viewer and therefore would be great for a beginner to Tomiki Aikido. It begins with the introduction of the dojo (practice room) and explains dojo etiquette and also gives a brief history of Aikido and its founder Morihei Ueshiba (1883-1969). The video then walks through warm-up and basic exercises such as Shikko (Knee Walking), breakfalling, Unsoku (foot movements). Then he shows the 17 basic techniques that make up the Randori No Kata of the Tomiki system and also some counters of techniques. Kata is not shown in enough detail to learn from the uneducated, although it would be good as an adjunct to your training.
